This is a very interesting little program posted on the CBC website that can help unsure voters figure out which party is the closest to their own beliefs. Setting aside the dogmatic rhetoric swirling around this election, this is a great tool to help voters relate their stances on a variety of issues to the parties.

Just make sure you do not ”neither agree nor disagree” otherwise you will automatically be considered a liberal. Make A Choice

Another Home for Learning

As some of you may know, we have been participating in the local project called “A Home for Learning” since 2008. We have been designing and supplying cabinets to this project and we have done it again in 2010.

In case you don’t know what “A Home for Learning” project is, it’s a unique partnership created to help answer the need for more skilled trades people in the Okanagan’s construction industry. This year’s Home for Learning is a partnership between Okanagan College, the CHBA and Distinct Development.

Students from Okanagan College’s Residential Construction program are moving from the classroom to the job site. The students will participate in the construction of a single-family home in the Kelowna subdivision, while earning credit towards their carpentry apprenticeship.

The Homes for Learning project in 2010 was located in Black Mountain. Thanks to Canadian Home Builders, Fortis BC, Distinct Developments and of course our designer Jamie Stashyn, who have all helped in this most recent project. Here are some pictures from this event:

We are proud to be a part of our business community and for being acknowledged by the Kelowna Chamber last night at the Presidents Dinner! As many of you know, Peter our President, is an active member of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Board of Directors. On Feb 22nd at the 2011 Kelowna Chamber of Commerce Presidents Dinner, “Director of the Year” award was presented to Peter by the chamber’s Past President, Wesley Shields.

We are all happy for Peter and congratulate him for being a recognized member of our business community and a great ambassador for our company! But Peter, don’t let your head get too big, it’s also known as the ‘Eager Beaver Award’
